Nebraska Physician Dispensing Laws & Regulations
Note: PharmaLink has compiled the information below for reference only. State dispensing regulations change frequently and we recommend consulting an attorney or your state medical or pharmacy board with specific questions or to verify your eligibility to dispense.
Physicians who wish to dispense in Nebraska must first apply for and receive a Dispensing Practitioner Pharmacy License from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. The application fee is $625 but the license is permanent for the location, so there are not ongoing renewal costs. The permit allows physicians to dispense any medication that the physician is eligible to prescribe as long as they comply with all state and federal laws.
Mid-level dispensing (PA dispensing and NP dispensing) varies from state to state, even in states where physicians may dispense. If you are unsure whether or not you may dispense in your state, please contact us for more information.
